In Space Engineers, Triton is an icy terrestrial planet with every ore except Uranium and Platinum. In real life, the real Triton is the largest moon of the planet Neptune. Despite the real life Triton being a moon with low gravity, in Space Engineers it has the same surface gravity as Earth.
Triton does not support life, however, at most altitudes, oxygen atmospheric density is high. At this time it is unknown what the atmospheric altitude is.
Snow and ice is abundant, making it ideal for fueling hydrogen based space craft. The planet consists of Ice lakes, rolling snow planes, and snowy mountains, making it almost ideal for most types of rovers and VTOLs (Vertical Take Off and Landing craft). Because of this, Triton is considered an easy, if exotic spawn start.
Any player can land on the planet and play on it without purchasing any DLC with they play on a scenario Triton already present in it, but only those who have purchased the Frostbite Pack DLC are able to manually place Triton into their worlds with the Spawn Menu. The pasted-in planet does not contain the NPC buildings from the Frostbite scenario.
Scenarios[]
PC exclusive[]
Since shortly after the free Frostbite update, Triton is included when you create a custom game or scenario based off the Star System template on PC. In space, you can recognise this pale planet because it has no moons, similar to its desert sibling Pertam.
Console exclusive[]
The console version of Space Engineers does not include the Star System scenario, and Triton is instead included in the Distant Moons scenario.
DLC content[]
The Frostbite Pack DLC contains the Frostbite scenario, a challenging multiplayer adventure set on Triton.
