The unguided Rocket is an ammunition item.
Players need to have this ammunition in their inventory to be able to fire handheld RO-1 Rocket Launcher and PRO-1 Rocket Launcher. It is also the ammunition used for Rocket Turrets, Rocket Launchers, and Reloadable Rocket Launchers in ships. Rockets can only pass through large Conveyors.
If it's raw firepower you want, the Rocket does 500 explosion damage against blocks, which is less than a Warhead. Their advantage over a warhead is that you can fire them in a direction using launchers and turrets. The downside is that they are expensive to craft and take up a large volume in inventories. In the World Settings, you can choose whether you want to "Enable friendly missile damage", this means that the backsplash of Rockets can affect its own grid (at the risk of destroying the launcher).
Recipe[]
The Rocket is the most expensive and time consuming ammunition type to make, given that it costs Uranium and Platinum to produce 1 Rocket. The Rocket can be produced in an Assembler supplied with the following materials:
Material | Quantity |
---|---|
Iron Ingot | 55.00 |
Nickel Ingot | 7.00 |
Silicon Wafer | 0.20 |
Uranium Ingot | 0.10 |
Platinum Ingot | 0.04 |
Magnesium Powder | 1.20 |
Trivia[]
This item used to be called "200mm missile container" and later "Missile". It was renamed to "Rocket" in Version 1.202. Stable Version 157013 has made missiles cheaper, reducing the price of missiles by slashing the Magnesium Powder and Platinum Ingot amounts by more than half.
