Platinum Ore is a very rare, naturally occurring ore. The ore itself is similar in texture to silver ore, and barely visible in space from a distance. It has a slightly darker texture than Silver Ore.
Platinum ore can be processed in a Refinery to produce Platinum Ingots at a 0.48% ratio, which is to say, 1000 kg of ore will yield 4.8 kg of Platinum ingots. 1 kg of Platinum Ingot takes up 0.05 L of volume. The ore is difficult to find on planets and in space. It is the most rare resource in the Space Engineers as of 8/12/2018 and is used to make Thruster Components and 200mm Missile Containers.
Keep in mind that the Platinum Ore is one of the hardest if not hardest Ore to smelt in a Refinery in Space Engineers (As of 10/11/2016), with one refinery producing 5 kg of ingot in an hour of game time (without speed or yield modules included, at "realistic" refinery speed).
