Metal Grid is a component item used in the construction blocks. As of game version 1.157013 12/13/2016. Metal grids are now required for Atmospheric Thrusters, Heavy Armor blocks, and Hydrogen Thrusters. The addition of both Nickel Ingots and Cobalt Ingot requirements have made Metal Grids more valuable and significantly harder to manufacture.
