A Large Railgun Sabot is the special type of ammunition for the large-grid Railgun.

Rail gun ammunition comes as a multipart sabot with a metal-jacketed depleted uranium core, which makes them quite expensive. The outer "carrier" shell of the sabot is shed during flight, prior to the core striking its target. Sabots are capable of penetrating several layers of armor at high speed.
