Items

Items are objects in Space Engineers that can be held by the player or deposited into an inventory. They fall into one of four categories:

• Ore: Ores are unrefined minerals obtained by mining Asteroids or looting Pre-Built Ships.
• Material: Materials, such as ingots, are the product of refining ores.
• Component: Components are assembled from materials; they are used to construct the blocks that make up ships and stations.
• Tool: Tools are also assembled from materials; they are useful items that are operated by the player, like weapons or bottles.
• Consumable: Consumables are also assembled from materials; they are expendable items that are used up by players or blocks, like ammo or bottles.
