When planets were introduced, a set of pre-designed vehicles were created to help the Engineers on their endeavors. Among the two projected blueprints on planets was the CarrierShipProjector (this page).
For lack of a better name we will refer to this VTOL as Carrier Ship. This VTOL has a mass of 144,338 Kg, using Atmospheric Thrusters as its main source of propulsion. Despite its weapon mounts it appears this VTOL was more of a support vessel than a true attack vessel.
The vehicle lacks side thrusters making it rather clumsy for a transport vehicle. Its main source of power is an array of batteries combined with small reactors. This is complicated by the fact that the ship needs power to automatically sort the Uranium Ingots. An Engineers' first set of ingots will be used up to charge the array of batteries. Aside from these setbacks, the ship flies relatively decently, if it wasn't for its fragile body and landing system.

Hydrogen thrusters seem to be used as a defensive escape precaution rather than out of necessity. Since these Hydrogen thrusters are placed to the stern of the vessel it is assumed it was made for a quick drop-off and escape design.
The design is armed enough, but the Pilot should be mindful of landings, because this vehicle does not forgive rough landings. In any given scenario the VTOL will collapse under it's own weight and crush not only its wing landing gear but its braking atmospheric thrusters as well.
