The script breaks every time Keen just look at the source code funny though
Which one do you mean, https://spaceengineers.fandom.com/wiki/Titan ?
(Or https://spaceengineers.fandom.com/wiki/Triton?)
Instead of using build info, I wrote a script that extracts all values from the game files, like mass and power consumption and force in newtons etc. Now I just need to come up with a nice useful diagram. ;)
That's great, do you want to edit the outdated text on the thruster pages? An update to then is what people have been asking for. I can add the image if you are not familiar with uploading. Editing text is like any text editor. Do you see the edit button?
Thanks for the tip where the error is! I would like to verify and update all these thruster tables, just need to figure out how to best do that so they are comparable and easy to read.
Moons have thinner atmospheres and atmo thrusters don't work well. If you google for "space engineers calculator" you'll find pages where you can enter the ship mass and planet gravity and it tells you how many of each type of thruster you will need, like se-calculator.com
And if you're not sure about the atmosphere -- hydrogen ships can fly anywhere!
It should, yes, I have watched videos where people used it. But I've never really used this voice chat myself, the only time I used it, the sound quality was worse than Discord or TeamSpeak, so we switched.
Yes, if it can lift the extra mass, magnetic plates can grab another vehicle or wrecks, such a ship is called a tug. It will just be sluggish and slower to accelerate/brake. How did it go? 😏
Good question! DLCs contain variations of blocks in different themes, and some contain functional variants that combine existing functionality differently. What do you enjoy building, bases, tanks, spacecraft, factories, vehicles? https://spaceengineers.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Downloadable_Content_Blocks
Look at the previews on Steam, there will be some DLCs where you feel you "must have that" and others where you don't care at all. E.g. I love the neon scifi blocks! ;-) Some people love the new shapes of the Heavy Industry or Warfare designs, etc. And some DLCs only contain interior furniture, if you enjoy building cozy stations, you will want these, but if you build tanks, you won't care about a kitchen or jukebox. XD Some contain suits skins, or armor skins, or emotes -- is that important to you? These are criteria that I would use to choose. Looking forward to hearing what you picked :)
Yeah, thrusters on rotors are not controlled like normal. Are you on PC, can you use script mods? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=757123653
Awesome, thanks for the update, that's the type of content we need here! I removed the outdated sentence (and adjusted your next sentence to match). Thanks for finding this and sharing!
Hi Joe! Great, I can show you how. I prepared an empty page for you where you can start typing like in WordPad:
https://spaceengineers.fandom.com/wiki/Encounter_Habitat_Pods?action=edit
And then click "Save Page" in the bottom left.
(If you are interested, I created this page by going to the Random Encounters page and adding a link named Encounter Habitat pods. It will first be red. Then you click that and it says, "no such page exists, do you want to create it?" and then you click yes.)
Thanks for offering to help the community, I'm looking forward to reading it!
Wth hydrogen thrusters, check whether they are properly piped to hydrogen tanks (and the tank must be NOT set to “stockpile”). Can you follow all conveyor lines and make sure they are fully there and welded?
And just yesterday I had a case (with ion thrusters that didn’t light up) where I had redesigned all the blocks around the thrusters that kept them in place, so actually the thrusters were lose and no longer connected to the ship… but with hydrogen thrusters, I think you would see that if it happened
You could build a tiny temporary base with just a cargo, basic refinery, windmills. And attached to the cargo, a hinge, and then pistons and on the far end, your first drill. And have the drill dig up stone, and when it can’t reach anymore change the angle of the hinge and continue digging. And if it can’t reach any more stone again, extend the piston plus change the hinge angle. And as soon as you have enough ingots processed, add a drill next to the first and repeat and widen the hole again. Etc. That way you can dig up a lot of stone fast.
I thought that spawns you in a second pod a few kilometres away? I would recommend that the first one creates a faction and the second one joins it. Then you should be able to respawn at each others survival kit (at least if your own is not available=switched off in your pod).
I don’t have an xbox, what’s up with it? They made public servers but Triton is not included? I heard that xbox had trouble keeping more than three planets in memory, can it have Distant Moons in a local game? I like that idea here https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/xbox/topic/ability-to-have-more-than-three-planet-types-in-a-game to somehow transition between sectors of space containing loadable planets, they would not be in memory at the same time, but at least one ship could travel to all of them.
Isn’t that the one that is practically a mobile mining base…? I prefer more specialised ships tbh. Do you also plan to replace the whole refinery to save weight (at least I thought it has one, do I remember correctly…)?
I don’t have an xbox but I remember seeing the answer on Reddit, looks like no: https://www.reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/wiki/faq/xbox#wiki_differences_between_xbox_versions_and_pc.3F
The Xbox now includes all planets/moons, but only 3 are currently allowed per map. Instead of Star System, the Xbox has 3 new starts: Home System (Earthlike, Moon, Mars), Distant Worlds/Alien System (Alien planet, Pertam), and Distant Moons (Europa, Titan, Triton). Earth Planet, Mars Planet and Moon Base use the same planets as Home System.
The wise Clang says, do not ask what this iron can do for you. Ask, what can _I_ build to bring this iron to great glory... in.... Spaaaace!
Or somethin' ;)
The Keen support page, the Keen Discord (and Xocliw's and of other streamers) and Reddit are much more active. Even the Steam forums are more active. XD
This is only used as a wiki. We could have conversations here and post blogs and articles, but, apparently, we don't. :D
